| An existing road was used to access the well site.  The road and drill pad are stoned with limestone.  The Site ID sign and E/S Plan  were present at the entrance of the access road.  The pit had approximately 5' of freeboard.  At the time of inspection, the depth of drilling was at  6750'.    According to the drillers' log on site, Marcellus was encountered at approximately 6685'.  Some small shows of gas were encountered as noted on inspection form.

| At the time of inspection, the drilling crew was tripping drill pipe out of the hole.  The company man indicated that the pipe was tripped out once in order to replace a bad motor.  Upon resuming drilling after replacing the motor, there was a spike in pressure.  During inspection it was not known what caused the pressure spike, but likely was a result of mud stuck in the pipe from setting it down in the rat hole.  Drilling depth was 12,122'.
 +

 +
During inspection, pump trucks were also on site pumping out liquid from the pit.  Approximately 6' of freeboard was observed in the pit.

| At time of inspection I met with Company Man Max Oliver of Chesapeake.  Mr. Oliver informed me they were getting ready to perforate  Clapper 2H and 4H wells.  A small service rig was on site and set up over the hole.  Mr. Oliver indicated they are planning to perforate approximately 6 sections on each well.  Fracking is tentatively secheduled for Sept. 7th.  Frac tanks were being staged on an upper field near the entrance to the property.    An excavator was also on site filling in the reserve pit with soil from adjacent stockpile. Pit was being compacted with sheepsfoot roller, and soil was hauled with large dump truck.    Pipe line workers were also installing pipe near the access road to the well pad.

| During a previous DEP inspection completed on 12/11/09, a violation was cited for failure to properly install a well tag on the completed well.  On January 4th 2010, the DEP received a letter and a picture from Chesapeake in response to the violation.  The letter indicates that a well tag was installed on the well on 12/19/09, which was made evident in a photograph received along with the letter.

Based on the above letter and photograph received, the operator has properly tagged the well, and the previous violation has been corrected.

INSPECTION ID DATE DESCRIPTION COMMENT VIOLATION ID
1794662 2009-04-29 No Violations Noted An existing road was used to access the well site.

During inspection it was not known what caused the pressure spike, but likely was a result of mud stuck in the pipe from setting it down in the rat hole. Drilling depth was 12,122'.

During inspection, pump trucks were also on site pumping out liquid from the pit. Approximately 6' of freeboard was observed in the pit.
