1243962697 2009-06-01 I received a call from Greg New at 12:46AM, 6/1/09. His stock tank was struck by lightening. The Ellsworth and the Berlin Center fire departments were on the location. There were 30 barrels of oil inside the stock tank. All but 1 barrel was burned up. A pond was located 20 feet south of the stock tank. The Ohio EPA were called. Mr. New was not sure that the oil went into a water way. I inspected the site at day break. The house to the north had siding damage. The house was owned by Mr.Ted and Mrs. Wendy Nedzelski at 8170 Cook road. She stated that around 11:00PM on 6/1/09 she saw the lightening come down. Then heard two bangs. The siding on the south side of the house was melded. The Ohio EPA arrived on the scene, Kurt Kollar. Sweet Meadows arrived too. Paul Shaw from Dorfman was on site too. They used booms to sweep the pond area. The vacuum truck was vacuuming the oil from the pond. The clean up continues.
1246472774 2009-07-01 I inspected the area around the pond and found vegetation starting to grow. The tank battery will be moved closer to the wellhead. This case continues.
1247596320 2009-07-13 Vegetation is growing around the pond area. The tank battery will be moved. Not sure where it will be. This case is resolved.
-2023115106 2009-06-04 I performed a NOV follow-up. There has been more top soil brought in. This case continues.
859716980 2009-06-16 I inspected the tank battery area. The pond had no oil sheen on it. The top soil piles have been spread out. The area has not been seeded yet. This case continues.
