| 2057028 | 2012-03-14 | In Compliance with Policy | On March 9, 2012, the Department received a complaint about alleging run-off from Chevron’s Hartley site getting into a privately owned farm pond. On March 14, 2012, WQS Bill Keefer, WQS John Ley and I investigated.
When we arrived at the farm, we found no one home but we walked down to the pond anyway. The pond was still off-color and it appeared that there was some sediment in the small stream that fed it. We stopped at Chevron’s Hartley site. There was an E&S plan in the tube in front of the site and a site sign. We found several areas where the triple silt sock was over-run. We also found bare areas where there were no E&S controls and areas sediment got off-site. There were also bare slopes that did not appear stabilized within the prescribed 4 days. These are all violations. We left and I contacted Beth Smock about the problems. Violations were recorded for this site under Efacts # 2057009, Enforcement #: 282206 on the Harrtley 9H well (37-051-24455) |
