2039150 Primary Facility 2012-01-25 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted The Department was at the above referenced Marcellus Well to conduct an inspection after being notified of stream contamination down gradient of this well site. The Department observed impacts to an unnamed tributary down gradient of this Well. The stream was gray/reddish in color. The Department took samples of the stream and also took samples of the drilling mud on site. The Driller on site said that they were drilling on air until 3:00AM in the morning. Apparently the stream had turned colors the day before on 1/24/12 at approximately 1:30PM. The Driller also said they have casing set at a depth of 2,534 ft. The Department grabbed a sample of the black drill mud to determine who was at fault for the stream contamination. The Department will provide sample results to the Operator. Another company is conducting a HDD bore adjacent to this Marcellus Operation. All parties will receive sample results and will be notified of the Department's final determination to the cause of the stream contamination.
