2227271 2013-12-09 No Violations Noted On 12/9/2013, the Department conducted a inspection of Chevron Appalachiaï¾’s Ritter 1,2,4,5 H well site in Redstone Twp., Fayette County.

The new Act 9 site ID sign is in place at the site entrance. The E&S and PPC plans were in the box.

Access road into the site was in good shape. There was a guard shack at the entrance, but no guard on duty today.

The 1, 2, 4, and 5 H wells have been drilled by a Highlands Rig, but the rig has since moved off site. No equipment or personnel were on site today. The only items on site was the containment around the well and fencing around the 4 drilled wells themselves.

The 3H well has not been drilled.

There is one sed trap on site and it was functioning. There were no E&S issues seen at the site today. The site looked stable.

2231733 2013-12-24 In Compliance with Policy On 11/7/2013, a operator self reported a spill incident at the Chevron Appalachia LLC, Ritter 4H unit well site located in Redstone Twp., Fayette County. Approximately 50 gallons of drilling water was released to secondary containment.

According to documentation and reports from Chevron - while in the process of transferring drilling water from the centrifuge to the frac tanks, one of the tanks overflowed. The release occurred into secondary containment. The material was vacuumed up and placed back in the tanks for reuse. Documentation provided to the Department is attached to this report.

Upon review of all the information in relation to this spill incident, the operator performed the proper spill reporting requirements and has reported sufficient remediation at the area of release in compliance with the Departments current Spill Policy.

2249558 2014-02-28 No Violations Noted On 2/28/2014, the Department conducted a inspection of Chevron Appalachiaï¾’s Ritter 1,2,4,5, 6, 7, 8 H well site in Redstone Twp., Fayette County.

The Act 9 site ID sign is in place at the site entrance. The E&S and PPC plans were in the box.

Access road into the site was in good shape. The site was not guarded.

The 3, 6, 7,8 H have been drilled since the previous inspection. All 8 wells are drilled now on the site.

The rig had recently moved off site and some clean up activity is going on now. Crews came in and removed several office trailers today while the inspection was going on.

There is one sed trap on site and it is functioning. No E&S issues were observed at the site today. The site looked stable.

There is some more cleaning up of the site to be done, several parts and pipes were scattered around the site. The orange fencing around the site perimeter has blown down in the back left corner of the site and should be reattached for safety reasons.

2353453 2015-03-19 No Violations Noted Well development activities were ongoing at the time of the inspection. Three constructed AST's were located onsite within secondary containment. Baker tanks and sealed roll-off boxes were also located onsite on secondary containment. No evidence of any spills or discharges to the containment or ground was observed during the site inspection. There was no observed accelerated erosion or sedimentation in relation to the site or access road and all erosion controls appeared to have been properly maintained.
