The Complainant informed the Department that they have 3 springs on the property and were not notified that a Gas Well Permit application had been submitted to the Department. Under section 601.201 of the Act, the applicant shall forward, by certified mail, a copy of said plat to the surface land owner, all surface landowners or water purveyors whose water supplies are within 1,000 ft. of the proposed well location and should submit proof with the well permit application. The Department will require the Operator to have the 3 springs professionally surveyed to acquire the distances from the gas well to the springs and submit the findings to the Department in a timely manner.
