2017393 Primary Facility 2011-11-03 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted The Department was at the above referenced Marcellus Wells to conduct a routine inspection. The site has 5 wells that have been drilled. The E/S controls are in good condition. The 5 pit/impoundments on site are full of water and should be inspected to insure that 2 ft of freeboard remains at all times. The site is in overall good condition.
2052344 Primary Facility 2012-03-12 Incident- Response to Accident or Event No Violations Noted The Department was at the above referenced Marcellus Wells to conduct an inspection after being notified of a 10 gallon brine spill. The site has 5 wells that have been drilled and fracked and appear to be in production. The Operator notified the Department of a 10 gallon brine spill. The Department inspected the minor spill and did not observe any impacts to the soil. The spilled brine water did not migrate and was cleaned up.
2112680 Primary Facility 2012-10-31 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted The Department was at the above referenced well to conduct a routine inspection. This inspection was conducted after a heavy rain event. Grass is growing on site and considered temporary stabilized. The Operator replaced the E/S Controls on site because they were removed before the site was permanently stabilized. The site does have some E/S concerns. The rain caused the fill slopes to start eroding and these will need re-graded before the problem gets worse. The Department recommends waiting for good dry weather to conduct any earth disturbance activities. The northern fill slope where the sediment trap was removed is also started to erode. The erosion is mainly at the base of the slope. The Operator may want to place temporary controls such as straw bales at the base of the northern slope to keep the sediment on site. Please contact the Department at the phone number listed below if you have any questions.
