0242667603 2016-05-23 Exempt Well Pre Transfer No Violations The Uniontown DOGRM office received a call from Anne Coppersmith ( 216.832.3048 ) concerning a Domestic well located on a property she was interested to purchase. The well was located at 6571 Hammontree Drive, in the City of Hudson. During my inspection I found the well that consisted of 4.5 casing with a Frac valve attached to a series of regulators required to bring the pressure down to a level that is usable in the residence. The 4.5 production casing had a gauge that read 900 psi. That pressure was reduced, after passing through a Big Joe regulator, to 140 psi. Further pressure reduction was achieved by passing the natural gas pressure through two (2) Little Joe regulators down to 21 psi. The natural gas then passed through a drip bottle designed to catch small volumes of fluid which maybe associated with the domestic usage. I examined the 4.5 casing and found that severe corrosion had occurred at the ground level. There was pitting on the surface of the 4.5 casing which could significantly affect the integrity of the casing. Due to the close proximity ( 60 to 70 ) of adjacent residences and the limited access during an emergency, the well should either be repaired or plugged and abandoned as soon as possible.
0327485307 2016-10-05 Work Over Reconditioning No Violations Moore Well Services (MWS) was the contractor to remediate the corroded 4.5 casing exposed above the 8.625 casing head. The well originally had 900 psi on the 4.5 casing and with the corrosion removing at least 40 % to 50 % of the original wall thickness a repair was needed. The well was allowed to flow the pressure down to zero (0) psi, starting on 8/22/2016, through the Exline # 1 ( 34-153-2-0677, Hudson Twp., Summit Cty., Summit Petroleum ) salesline. The 8.625 annular pressure was six (6) psi. MWS loaded the 4.5 casing with 35 barrels of fresh water to stabilize the well conditions. No flow of gas or fluids were identified from the 4.5 casing. MWS positioned a hydraulic casing jack around the well and lowered into the 4.5 casing , then engaged a lockset packer in order to pull stretch on the 4.5 casing. Approximately 12 of 4.5 non-corroded casing was exposed at which point, the 4.5 casing was cut. I measured the wall thickness of the 4.5 casing stump and found it to be .215, .224 and .220 at three (3) different positions on the fresh cut. The nominal wall thickness for 4.5 , 10.5 lbs. / ft. casing is .224. A Bell Nipple ( .246 wall thickness ) was slipped over the 4.5 casing stump and welded to the 4.5 casing utilizing three (3) welding passes ( over, on , above ). After the welded parts have cooled sufficiently, the 4.5 gate valve was re-attached to the Bell Nipple and closed. The regulator manifold will have to be reconfigured to accommodate the new height of the 4.5 casing. The well was shut in, to repressurize, and will be monitored for leaks. No violations during this inspection.
1414761676 2017-07-25 Administrative Inspection No Violations I inspected the Thomas Drews # 2 domestic well to determined whether the required fencing had been erected surrounding the well head. My inspection revealed that the fence had not been installed. I spoke with the landowner Anna Coppersmith and requested that a fence be put up as soon as possible. I also informed her that the well had not been transferred to her yet and as such they would not have the usage of the well as a domestic gas source. She replid, that she has paid all the insurance associated with the well and will check with their Attorney and Title people as to effect the transfer.
