0249028165 2007-04-11 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Summit Petroleum was on site to start clearing and building the drilling location. Modifications to the pre-permit site inspection conditions were discussed and approved. I reminded Summit that they must post the drilling permit and identification signs before breaking ground. They will be posted today.
0753125601 2008-05-14 Preliminary Restoration No Violations Preliminary restoration is past due. I contacted Summit and told them what needed to be done before preliminary restoration would be approved and when it had to be done.
0775310400 2007-05-14 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations The drilling pits have been solidified and closed. The artesian flow coming around the backside of the surface casing has been channeled to a drainage swale that discharges into the wetland north of the drill site. A Quantab test of the water indicated chloride concentrations less than 100 ppm.
1177678937 2007-04-23 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Before coming out from under surface on 4/21/2007, Capstar reported that there was a small gas leak at the wellhead. After drilling out, the leak stopped. The pits are lined and full. I talked to Bill Kinney who told me that they had ordered out a frac tank to pump into. Otherwise they will have to switch to fluid in order to manage the pit levels.
1178219638 2007-04-30 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations After the drilling rig moved off, Summit started experiencing artesian water flow around the outside of the 8-5/8 surface casing. Quantab analysis of the water indicated chloride concentrations less than 200 ppm. The initial response has been to excavate a ditch and install 4 schedule 40 PVC drain pipe from the wellhead to a nearby ditch 100 east of the well. The quality of the discharge water will be periodically checked for chloride content. The flow rate was also reduced by placing 14 bags of bentonite hole plug in the annular space.
1183752134 2007-06-12 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Still discharging atresian flow into the nearby drainage ditch. The well has been completed and the tank battery is under construction. No violations at this time.
1224853711 2007-08-01 Production Wells No Violations The tank battery has been set, the fences are up and the well is in production. Finish grading and seeding are required before preliminary restoration is approved.
1405076654 2008-06-11 Preliminary Restoration No Violations Preliminary restoration is approved.
1567786090 2007-05-04 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations The well has been fraced. The artesian water flow around the outside of the sruface casing continues and is being discharged into the nearby drainage ditch via the PVC collection system. The discharge will be periodically tested for chloride content.
1752477015 2007-04-20 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations At 23:30 on 4/19, while drilling surface hole, Capstar encountered a good shale gas show at 353. The gas unloaded some of the drilling fluid but the rig was still circulating and appeared to have the situation under control. Surface casing will be run and cemented after the gas show has been addressed. The were no gas odor complaints reported to the local fire department.
2043321966 2007-04-19 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Capstar Drilling Rig 1 is on site drilling surface hole. The pits are lined and in good condition. The drilling permit and ID are posted. No violations at this time.
2073829984 2007-04-26 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Drilling has completed and the rig should be moving tomorrow. The pits are full but are lined and in good condition. No violations at this time.
2107500349 2008-02-05 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Preliminary restoration was due by the end of January. The site still needs finish grading where the gas lines were installed and seeding over the entire site. If the work is not completed as soon as the weather breaks, a NOV will be issued.
775310400 2007-5-14 0:00: DD No Violations
