The well is hooked up for production via a pump jack which was hooked up to electricity. There was also a tank hooked up uphill from the well. There had been an issue with oil getting on to the ground along the line, but appears it has been fixed. The wooden building is being taken down (per well operator). There was a separator and pump station hooked up as well. There was some oil at the base of the wellhead that spread out 3-4 feet. Just downhill from the well was a larger tank where the dike had a large amount of oil remnants within. All of these issues with oil on the ground should be cleaned up. Production has not been reported since 2009. The well was not labeled. Please label the well and use DEP's Greenport site to electronically file production data. |
