2628239 Primary Facility 2017-07-11 Incident- Response to Accident or Event Violation(s) Noted On 07/06/17 at 1545 hours Range Resources LLC reported to the Department a spill had occurred at the site at approximately 1450. An estimated 15-20 barrels of produced fluid was spilled on the site as a result of the tank being punctured.

On 07/11/17 I conducted an inspection of the site. The impacted soil was to be excavated and placed in lined roll off boxes. According to Range Resources, logistical problems prevented the used of roll off boxes and 6 mil plastic was used instead. The Department communicated to Range that additional sampling would be required in the area of the soil pile to ensure additional soil contamination did not occur, due to the poor construction of the plastic containment and the unknown impermeability of the plastic used.

The spill has resulted in violations of SWMA 301 and 78.56(a)(3).

2820498 Primary Facility 2018-12-18 Compliance Evaluation No Violations Noted On 07/06/17 Range Resources reported a spill of 15-20 barrels of produced fluid to the ground, due to a punctured brine tank. On 07/11/17 the Department conducted an inspection and issue violations for SWMA 301 and 78.56(a)(3).

On 12/18/18 at approximately 0800 hours I conducted a compliance evaluation inspection. The contaminated soil had been excavated and disposed of. The spill was remediated and the land was restored. There were no signs of spills, releases, leaks, or accelerated erosion at the time of inspection. The violations have been corrected and there were no violations observed at the time of inspection.
