2234513 Primary Facility 2014-01-08 Administrative/File Review In Compliance with Policy SPILL-Lisa Raffle, Atlas Energy, called into the SWDO at 11:41am on 1/8/14 for a spill of brine (apx. 5-10 barrels) that occurred at 10:47 am on 1/8/14. Atlas stated that all of the material released is a result of a bad tank and is on containment; remainder of material in tank has been transfered to another tank onsite and currently a water truck is headed to the site. -A. 2237102 Primary Facility 2014-01-09 Incident- Response to Accident or Event In Compliance with Policy On 1/9/2014, the Department conducted an inspection of Atlas Resources LLC’s KIRCHNER UNIT 3 OG WELL in German Twp., Fayette County. The Operator had reported a brine spill within the dike area from a hole in the brine tank.A clean up crew was on site to dig up the contaminated gravel/soil inside the dike. A hole could be seen on the side of tank #2 where the fluid leaked out. The Operator estimated between 5 - 10 barrels of brine leaked out inside containment. After further investigation the amount that leaked out was closer to 5 barrels.
2573251 Primary Facility 2017-03-21 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted The Act 9 sign was in place and all required documents were present. The site was well vegetated and there were no signs of erosion observed. The well production equipment appeared to be in good condition. There were no violations observed at the time of inspection.
