1591506 Primary Facility 2007-01-10 Follow-up Inspection No Violations Noted Loc.: Tributary of the South Fork of the Dunkard Fork of Wheeling Creek = = Boom was set across Dunkard Fork, now rainswollen, with this higher water flushing the creek. Up the hollow, nearer the source of a 3,000 gal. deisel fuel spill, possibly a deliberate release, were two employees contracted by the mine to retrieve deisel-soaked leaves into five-gallon buckets to beremoved to a disposal station. By the smell of the contents, they were getting a lot of deisel-soaked leaves, but when I realized a 3,000 gal. release had occurred, I knew a sizeable portion would have unfortunately been lost into the environment of the lower Dunkard Fork. I asked for directions to the site and started up there, but upon seeing the plug acess restoration well was well done and planted and still soft, thought the better of driving to the bench plug. The place is remote, up-hollow in the general direction of McClellan Rd. Hopefully, the efforts continuing on the clean-up and the natural flushing occurring will combine for a quick recovery in the stream channel
