1969991 Primary Facility 2011-02-02 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted The Department was at the above referenced Marcellus Well to conduct a Routine Inspection. The Operator is currently drilling a Marcellus Well on this pad. They plan on drilling multiple wells on this pad. The E/S controls appear to be in good condition. The pits/impoundments appear to be in good condition. The drilling pit contained drill cuttings and water during this inspection. The Operator had two extra reserve pits or water impoundments that were not lined yet. The Department noticed large boulders and rocks at the base of the impoundment that was not yet finished and lined. Any rocks larger than 6 inches should be discarded and not utilized in the construction of the impoundment. These larger rocks can also be a problem in regards to the integrity of the liner and cause the liner to fail. The pit shall be constructed so that the liner subbase is smooth, uniform, and free from debris, rock, and other material that may puncture, tear, cut, or otherwise cause the liner to fail.
