The Well is drilled but is not producing. The Department called the Operator on site during the inspection. The Department gave the Operator a verbal warning that the pit should have been closed and the site should have been restored after 9 months of reaching total depth (TD) on the Well. The Department will utilize the compliance assistance codes and term this inspection result as a pollution prevention warning with no violations. The Operator called a contractor and said it was scheduled to be completed in 3 weeks. The drill pit was still open and lined but did not contain any cuttings or contaminated water. The Department will follow up to insure that the site has been properly restored. Violations may be issued in the future if the site is not properly restored.
