The Department is unable to locate the Alpha Unit 1V gas well. Permit number 059-25559. The Department observed eight properly identified active producing wells on the Alpha Unit 2 well site. None of the eight wells on the Alpha Unit 2 well site are identified/labeled as the Alpha Unit 1V. Permit number 059-25559. The Department will request that the operator locate the well and determine its status. |

The Department conducted an administrative review of the Alpha Unit 2 1V. The Alpha Unit 2 1V well was drilled by Alpha Shale Resources LLC in 2010. The Alpha Unit 2 1V is a conservation well. Alpha Shale Resources LLC submitted a well record to the Department on 8/27/2012. According to the well record, drilling was completed on 12/3/2010 to a depth of 8,126'. Alpha Shale Resources submitted an application for inactive well status to the Department on 8/2/2013. Present at time of inspection was Walter Nelson and Jamie Davis (EQT). The site is located in Jackson Twp., Greene Co. The inspection was related to a request by the operator to meet on site and review a proposed minor modifications to the permit, and review the site for termination of the ESCGP2 permit.
The operator has requested for some minor modifications to the ESCGP2 permit for the installation of two rock aprons on the cut slopes of the PCSM construction. The operator has also requested to install a cut slope drain which will extend to the PCSM collection channel. The minor modifications were reviewed and approved by the Department in the field.
