| I received a phone call from landowner Jeff Cramer to report a well on his property that is showing up in ODNR records as never being drilled. I met Mr. and Mrs. Cramer at their home and followed them to the well site. The well site was on a small hill, and there was a grass covered vehicle path to the top. There was a steel load line and valve at the bottom of the hill at the where the vehicle path started. I found an 8.625 inch drip bottle that extended 2 feet above ground. There were three nipples off of the drip. One connected to an open ball valve, through a regulator, then a closed ball valve and into yellow plastic 1 inch gas line that entered the ground. The second connected to a closed ball valve and into 1.5 inch steel line that entered that ground. The third connected to a check valve, an open ball valve and 2 inch steel flow line that entered the ground. There were no gauges on the drip. There were no other material or debris near the well site. Mr. and Mrs. Cramer speculated that this well was drilled on an expired permit and never reported to the State. I researched the lease name and found another Hothem/Dunlevy #2 well, permit 5521, that was drilled in 1985 and plugged in 1995. The Cramers had photos of the drilling rig that were dated January 1985. All other investigations into this complaint will be recorded under permit 5521.
