2710310 | Primary Facility | 2018-03-26 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | On March 26 I conducted a routine inspection of this abandoned well. The well is located in a wet area near Green Lick Run west of Rt. 144, south of Ole Bull State park. At the time of inspection; the well has what appears to be 8 5/8" casing sticking up above ground level. The casing is full of fluid, and there was a steady trickle of fluid flowing from the top of the casing. There was a sheen on the ground in the immediate area where the discharge was. The well is obstructed with debris a foot or two inside the casing. Large bubbles were observed in the fluid inside the casing every minute or so, and would last 5-10 seconds then stop for another minute. The well is on the DEP plugging list at this time. |
