Hydraulic fracturing operations have apparently just have ceased on the well pad as crews were in the process of rigging down from the frac. There was no activity on the tank pad. An above ground storage tank, also known as a Lake Tank, is staged on the tank pad. This tank most likely contains freshwater that is used during stimulation of the wells. A tank farm containing frac tanks most likely storing recycled water used during stimulation of the wells is also staged on the pad. Recycled water is a mixture of flowback and production fluid generated from Cabot natural gas wells. Puddles of water from recent rainfall events have accumulated on and off containment on the tank pad. I used a Hanna Soil Test and Electrical Conductivity and & Temperature meter to record conductivity readings of damp soil near the tank farm containment berm and water in the tank farm containment in the Southwest Corner |
