-999736219 2004-08-20 Arrived on site today because landowner said that the pits were open and running over into the creek.During my inspection I walked to all wells plugged on the owners property and found no pits or oil running anywhere.I tried to contact owner and later on in the day spoke with Dave Nussbaum and he said that his wife had called.I ask where the open pits with oil were and he said he did not know.He also said that he knew about a terrific oily mess in his back yard that he thought was running into creek.I told him that I knew of the 3 to 4 gallons that had been spilled over a week ago but that it had peatsorb placed over it and that some of it could run off if it had not sucked up any oil.I also advised that it would be removed and clean fill put down along with seed, but that the well had just been plugged and that it took some time to do the reclamation. He seemed very upset that it remained and that it even got there to begin with.I tried to explain that it was an accident and that the peatsorb had sucked up all of the free oil and that it would be alright to remain for a few days.
