Mr. Chimino stated that early this morning, lightning struck the brine tank, igniting it and causing it to burn down to the base. The last well check was yesterday (9/2) in which there was 36 bbl brine in the tank at that time.Opr is currently removing any remaining fluids at this time and is in the process of contacting a contractor to pursue remediation efforts. Opr believes fluids may have traveled slightly downhill. No nearby waterways.Opr appears to be in compliance with current policy at this time. A FUI will be conducted in the future to assess any environmental impacts and/or issue any associated viols as necessary. |
