0489873120 | 2018-03-22 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the well was still shut in and the lines were disconnected. On 3/15/18 I was contacted by Bill Arnholt of Northwood Energy in regards to my inquiry into the status of this well. Bill said that they had some interest in trying to produce the well when they were drilling the Roman Yoder 1. He said that he was given verbal permission from the previous Coshocton County inspector Rocky King to see if they could get it to produce. Bill had records of servicing the well and equipping it with a pumping unit in 2010 to test it for production. Bill said that the well only made water, so they pulled their equipment off and they have not done anything with it since. He did not know why they were reporting production. Bill said that they are not currently producing the well and they have no intention of assuming ownership. |
0586363316 | 2018-03-07 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the well was equipped with rods and tubing. There was a pad for a pumping unit, but there was no unit present. I found a historical satellite image on Google Earth from 2013 that showed a pumping unit on the well. The most recent image was dated 2015 and showed that the unit was removed. There was 2-inch diameter flow line connected from the tubing nipple into the ground, and there was a 1-inch diameter line connected to the casing nipple. The tubing valve was closed. I was unable to determine the position of the casing valve. There were no leaks around the wellhead and there was no identification posted. Northwood Energy reported annual production of zero (0) barrels oil and zero (0) cubic feet of gas on this well in 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016. The well is located approximately 50 feet behind the production equipment for Northwoods Roman Yoder 1, permit 6978 well. There was a 1 inch and a 2-inch plastic line coming out of the hillside directly below the wellhead and into the dike for the Yoder well. Both lines were disconnected; the 2-inch line was capped with a bull plug and the 1-inch line was open ended. I called Mark Fluharty to ask what he knew. He said that they tried to run tubing and the well and produce it a few years ago, but it turned out to not be productive. I called and left a message for Bill Arnholt with Northwood. I also found another abandoned wellhead approximately 470 feet west of this one, and the remnants of a shackle line shanty in the same general area. |
