1239383351 2009-04-10 I received a call from Tim McConaha (EnerVest) regarding a 210 barrel stock tank explosion that occurred around noon today. Approximately 4 barrels of crude oil were released and remained in the tank battery dike. The stock tank was launched 300'. There were no injuries and no private property damage. Troy Wells (cell # 330-571-2310) and Tom Vosick (EnerVest) are responding to the incident with a vacuum truck and PeatSorb (oil absorbent material). Messages were left on DNR Inspector Brett Farnsworth's office phone, State cell phone, and home phone. I called Troy Wells at 4:00 P.M. for an update. All the pooled oil has been vacuumed up and PeatSorb has been spread. The initial remediation is complete and additional clean up will continue on Monday. DNR Inspector Farnsworth should follow up with an inspection on Monday.
