1349290068 2012-08-27 I received a call from Reggie Brown (Ohio EPA) that a Mr. Dennis Lemieux at 5757 State Route 82 in Hiram had called and was concerned that there was oil in the creek running behind his house. I contacted Mr. Lemieux and he was concerned about the well across the street from his house and thought it might be leaking oil into the creek and might damage his water well. I told Mr Lemieux I would be out to inspect the well this afternoon. I arrived on the location at 4:45pm to inspect the well. My inspection found a diked tank battery containing a 210 barrel stock tank, a 50 barrel poly tank, and a mechanical separator. There was very minimal staining on the ground just below the bull plug drain and it was not visibly leaking. The wellhead consisted of a pumping unit and was diked. There was minimal staining on the rock surrounding the wellhead. There were no indications anywhere on location that oil had escaped either of the diked areas and run down towards the creek. The creek flows on the east side of the location and under SR 82 where it enters Mr. Lemieux's property. I walked the creek for 400' to the southeast and found no signs of oil or sheen on the water. I tried to contact Mr. Lemieux so that I could examine his property for oil and was unable to reach him. Refer to the complaint log for details on inspecting Mr. Lemieux's property (#3975).
