| 2692339 | Primary Facility | 2018-02-02 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | On February 2, 2018, the Department conducted a routine inspection at the Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, Maggie Location in Tuscarora Township, Bradford County. Andrew Hobbins represented the Department. Nobody was present for Chesapeake.
The site sign, E & S plan and weekly inspection logs were on site and available for review. The last inspection Chesapeake conducted was on 1/29/2018. The site was snow covered so no staining or erosion issues could be observed. The pad does not have PCSM BMPs installed, but the site was recently re-permitted and PCSM will be added. Two wells were observed to be in production during the inspection. The wells were labeled and no bubbling was observed in the well cellars. Two production tanks and two GPUs were also on site. Puddles on the pad were frozen, so no conductivity readings were taken. No violations were observed during the inspection. |

There were 2 properly tagged Marcellus wells staged for production. The well cellars were filled with water; no bubbling was observed. There were 2 GPUs and 2 sand separators onsite and in secondary containment. The containment around the produced water tanks contained about 10 inches of ice. The area around the pad was mainly snow covered. However, there were several bare spots that showed dense vegetation (Photo #2). No obvious E&S issues were observed, although snow cover prevented a proper inspection of vegetative cover. It is recommended that if the site meets PCSM and restoration requirements an NOT be submitted as weather permits after the winter. No violations noted during the inspection. |
