-1801589779 2004-04-22 Walked slope and searched top of bench but could not locate this well.
1392863820 2014-02-19 Jim Ross, contractor for Enervest Operating, showed Jon and I a well that apparently was not plugged and had no wellhead. The well has a static water level close to the surface with green oil floating on the water, possibly Berea oil, and gas discharging to the atmosphere. Geological Survey ticket for this well indicated that the well was abandoned in 8-25-1953. It was producing from the Clinton Sandstone before it was abandoned. Mr. Ross uncovered the well while doing some maintenance work for a friend in a pasture next to Jenkins Road. This will probably go into the I & O program. I'm anticipating the owner of the field will contact me tomorrow about the well.
1400086021 2014-05-14 Review of location and condition of well in order to complete the referral packet.
1485555119 2014-05-14 Accompanied Inspectors Josh Garland and Jon Scott to this well location to evaluate it for entry into the Idle & Orphan Well Program. This well was plugged with clay and it appears that the plug job failed. There is a 14" conductor approximately 1' below the ground surface that was covered with a circular concrete slab. Water is present in the conductor at approximately 50' down. Natural gas escaped from the conductor at a significant rate when the concrete lid was removed, and there is oil present on the bottom of the concrete lid from the well bore pressuring up while covered.
2010954674 2014-05-14 Inspected the well site with Inspectors Josh Garland and LJ Parkins. Well is being referred to the orphan program. 14" well casing is open with oil and gas discharge visible.
