Inspections Performed

Inspection ID Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
1427892844 2014-12-30 Production Wells No Violations This inspection was done at the request of the landowner, Samuel Barhorst, who believes he has an oil well on his property. The property is south of Grand Lake Saint Mary on Auglaize-Mercer County Line Road between 10526 and 10616. The property is a 1.5 acre lot with two storage barns near the northeast corner of the lot and a stone lane from the buildings due west to the road. The well is located approximately 90 south of the buildings, near the southeast corner of the property in a grass/lawn area. There are low, wet, wooded areas on the west and north property lines and homes on the parcels to the north and south. At the time of the inspection the well had 8.5 outside diameter casing sticking up two feet above grade. This casing was peeled back on the top indicating this is the conductor/drive casing. Inside the well there was no sign of any surface casing but on one side there was evidence of the annular cement. The well was also filled with dirt to ground level. There were LEL readings of 5 inside the casing and 0 outside the well. This well has a Historic Producing Status and appears to have no current owner, nor is it capable of production. This well will be referred for possible acceptance to the Orphan Well Program.
