1384767780 2013-05-09 Production Wells No Violations I received a call from Howard Barnes regarding two wells on his property. Neither well has been produced for at least 1.5 years. In reviewing production records posted to RBDMS, production has been reported each year from 1986 through 2011. There does not appear to be a production report for 2012. Mr. Barnes indicated that the well has been inactive since 2011. I inspected the well. The well has a pump jack. The bridle on the horses head is slack. It appears that the wells pumpjack is inoperable due to possible downhole problems. Mr. Barnes does receive house gas from this well, and the hook-up is still active. There is a gas meter at the tank pad for the well, but the chart on it has not been changed since September, 2012. On June 10, 2013, I called and spoke with Mr. Pat Ervin of Atlas, and discussed the wells. Mr. Ervin indicated that an authorization for expenditure (AFE) for a workover had just been approved, and that he was in the process of scheduling a service rig. He is to let me know when the rig is to arrive on site.
1519258634 2016-08-09 Production Wells No Violations The purpose of my inspection was to conduct a status check on the well and tank battery. The Barnes #2 was constructed with 979 of 8.625 surface casing and 5641 of 4.5 production casing. Drilling was completed on 10/12/1985. Production was initiated in 1986 and RBDMS shows the operator remains current in reporting of oil, gas, and brine volumes. The access road utilized for the well is also utilized by the surface owner for agriculture and remains in good repair. The well is operated as a pump jack well that had a minor amount of gas leaking from the stuffing box. The wellhead had a coating of oil, along with staining on the ground. Nothing was migrating off location. A tag from B&E Well Treating indicated Toluene and Diesel treatment on 8-2-2016. An I.D. tag was present on the wellhead. A domestic hookup is also currently present at the wellhead. The tank battery was surrounded by an earthen dike in good repair. The battery consisted of one (1) horizontal separator, one (1) 210 bbl production tank and one (1) buried concrete vault. Minimum spacing requirements are met. The horizontal separator remained in good repair. No audible or visual leaks were detected. A current 7 day chart was in the meter house. The production tank body contained correct and legible identification. The load line valve was shut, locked and plugged. The exterior of the tank has moderate corrosion. The top hatch was partially open. No leaks were observed at this time. The brine drain line valve was closed and plumbed to the brine vault. The brine vault remained in good repair. I will contact Atlas Field Superintendent Rusty Morrison to repair the well head leak.
