Inspection Data

Inspections Performed

Inspection ID Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
1458064696 2016-03-15 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found that the well was idle. The wellhead was equipped with a natural gas powered pumping unit. The unit was overgrown with vegetation. The fuel line to the engine had been cut and disconnected. The polished rod and stuffing box were dry. The tubing and casing valves were closed. The permit number painted on the pumping unit was wrong. I was approached by Russel Gwin, who claimed to be the caretaker of the Oliver property. He claimed that this well has not been pumped for at least three years. The tank battery consisted of two 100 barrel steel tanks and one 30 barrel poly tank. The valves on the tanks were equipped with plugs. An earthen dike was in place around the production equipment. Correct, legible identification was posted on one of the tanks. The tank battery is shared with the number 2-R, 1 and 3 wells. I called pumper Dave Ashcraft to request that correct, legible identification be posted at the wellhead. I spoke with Rick Wray about the well. He admitted that they have not pumped the well in a couple of years. Rick confirmed that there was a hole in the 5.5 production casing, so they ran 3 set on a packer to produce the well. He agreed to bring a service rig in this summer to assess the production capability, and conceded to plugging the well if it is found to be incapable.
