1069334971 2003-11-19 Orphan No Violations Met with superintendant of Lakota School District, Mr. Boyd, landowner of property, and Jeff Fry to review land adjacent to Lakota High School. School district is considering purchasing property adjacent to school for the construction of a new elementary school. The landowner had information that indicated that there were oil/gas wells that existed on the property in the 1940s. The well sites were no longer visible. Current landuse for the site is agriculture. There was concern about constructing a new building on a well site. With the use of an old aerial photo and metal detector, Jeff and I were able to locate and expose the old well site that would be in the area of the new school construction. The options to plug the well were explained to Mr. Boyd. He will contact us with a decision.

1195154837 2007-11-15 Orphan No Violations Discussed well location with Dave Barndt. Well casing discovered by ODNR on 11/19/03 is not a well. The casing that was exposed on that date turned out to be a piece of casing in the ground with no well bore below. Pictures taken of well casing on 11/19/03 and 11/15/07 are similar. Dave said he excavated approximately 6 feet below ground and found no well. Physical evidence and historic reports indicate there are wells in the field. Called school superintendant Rebecca Heinlich (not available) to determine when new school construction will begin. Will call back next week.
1487273606 2007-11-14 Orphan No Violations Attempt to locate wellhead with metal/ casing detector. Located a target; later reported to be a piece of steel.
