0988532550 | 2007-03-21 | Orphan | No Violations | Rotary rig set up on well. Nobody on site. Call from Bob Harpster on 3/20/07 indicated that drilling thru cement at 40 feet. While on site it was noted that half tank was nearly filled with fluid with oil on top. Spoke to Bob on phone. Drill depth at 42 feet with cement. Oil in tank is residual from previous job. No fluids encountered in well. Will return tomorrow to drill. |
1128370103 | 2005-10-03 | Orphan | No Violations | Well is located on property owned by the City of Bowling Green. Well was encountered approximately 8 feet below ground elevation while trenching for sewer. The workers on site at the time the well was discovered noted cement on top of the well pipes that was broken during excavation. The pipes were partially collapsed on top as noted in the picture. There is a 6 inch and 8 inch pipe in the well. Fluid was noted to the top of the 6 inch pipe. A bar inserted into the 6 inch casing found no obstruction. The well is shown as an unknown owner in RBDMS database. Well will be submitted to the I&O program. Met on site with Ed Ferguson from City of Bowling Green. |
1174590718 | 2007-03-22 | Orphan | No Violations | Call from Bob Harpster indicated that drilling on cement at approximately 40 feet. When arrived on site drilling had advanced to 200 feet thru clay and encountered lead wool. Checked plugging permit and found record attached that indicated that well was plugged in 1976, mostly with fire clay. When the casing was struck below ground in October 2005 by the City of Bowling Green during a sewer construction project, it was reported that the casing was open with no obstruction when a bar was inserted into the well. There was fluid to the top of the casing. When the inspector reviewed the site a riser had been placed over the well and the trench backfilled since this is a public park in a residential area. The operator continued to drill to a depth of 650 feet. At request from operator, supervisor Jeff Fry approved plugging well at this depth since it is below fresh water zone. |
1175026104 | 2007-03-23 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On site to observe plugging of orphan well. City of Bowling Green employee Ed Ferguson also on site. Gordon Lumber delivered 100 sacks of cement to site. Cement was pumped thru tubing to a depth of 650 feet as approved by supervisor Jeff Fry. The lower portion of the well was plugged with fire clay in 1976. Circulation was achived as cement was noted flowing into the tank. Cement settled in pipe to depth of approximately 20 feet. Call from Bob Harpster on 3/27 07 indicated that well was filled to surface with 8 bags of cement on 3/26/07 and ID plate attached. |
1647077919 | 2007-05-07 | Final Restoration | No Violations | Site has been graded and seeded. Vegetation is emerging. All equipment removed. Final restoration recommended for approval. |
