The data was available free of charge. On http://www.ogsrlibrary.com/data_free_petroleum_ontario, choose the XLS download in the Petroleum Data Download section. Metadata is available in that section as well. The freshness of the data was 2015-03-13.

Ontario v2.0 (August 2020)

For this release of Ontario oil and gas well data on Wellwiki, our data came from a single source:

• Petroleum data download

All the division and subdivision shapefiles were collected from Statistics Canada.

Overall, this upgrade resulted in the generation of 26,968 new or modified Ontario Well Pages; 2,220 new or modified Ontario Operator Pages and 223 new or modified Ontario Municipality Pages. The team for this project consisted of Joel Gehman, Zhi Shen, and Georgio Cheruvelil.
