0851636137 2017-08-28 Orphan No Violations I dropped off a second Right of Entry Plug application with the landowners sister. Gary France was not at home. Well is still leaking gas but vented through PVC pipe and land owner seems satisfied with situation. I explained we need the form to make application to the Orphan Well Program.
1464015502 2016-05-18 Plug / Plug Back No Violations Gary France, the landowner, contacted the Division regarding a leaking old well. He excavated the top of the casing. Gas was observed bubbling through water in the excavation. Water was pumped away and a rubber cover was removed from the casing top. The casing is 10 inch inside diameter and is filled with debris. Gas odor was observed around the well and the gas meter indicated methane and LEL. The well is located near a barn which serves as an airplane hangar. Tom Benko received the initial contact from Mr. France. Jeff Fry, orphan well inspector, assisted in the inspection and is preparing an orphan well referral to replug the well.
1474899002 2016-09-15 Orphan No Violations Well has a temporary well cap and has been covered over with soil. Since the last inspection date of 05-18-16 the well has been vented with a 2 PVC pipe that extends approximately 12 into the air. Vent pipe runs to the north east corner of the airplane hangar building. Well was recommended to be vented by the Division and done by the landowner Gary France. Gary said he no longer has gas fumes inside the building. I dropped off a second Right of Entry Plug application and talked to Gary about the utility lines and water well. Ohio Edison has the overhead electric and, Frontier has the buried phone lines. There are no water well records on the Division of Water site for his well. Gary thought it was 70 deep and had 4 steel casing. I revised the site sketch and took 2 additional photos.
