0942344236 2018-06-06 Orphan No Violations Orphan well status inspection: This well is associated with orphan well case #1989-09-124, which refers to this well as P#532-A. Upon inspection, it is observed that this well consists of 12 inch diameter casing which is open to the atmosphere and is standing full of freshwater. The casing is cut off at ground level and is heavily corroded. The well is not leaking oil, gas, or brine. There is clay plugging material approximately 4 feet downhole. According to division database records, this well was plugged and abandoned with prepared clay in 1936. The well is situated on Wayne National Forest property and is near where a recreational trail is planned to be constructed. This well may be a candidate to have the casing cut below grade level, an identification tag installed, and the surface restored. Photos were taken of the location.
