0330417675 2014-01-31 Orphan No Violations I met with Idle & Orphan well inspector Brent Bear at the location. We found that the well status has not changed. The casing is still visible, and full of crude oil and water. There were still small gas bubbles coming from the well.
0622149660 2014-01-31 Orphan No Violations An inspection conducted with Mr. Chris Grimm, Coshocton County Oil & Gas Inspector, revealed no change to the well status since the last inspection. Inside the above ground 8.25 outside diameter casing, the crude oil level remained just below the peeled sections of this casing and contained gas bubbling. Note: Winter Weather conditions at time of inspection.
1302237540 2013-04-08 Orphan No Violations An inspection revealed an 8.25 diameter casing that contained a constant bubbling of gas within a layer of crude oil and dead organic material at the surface. The casing extended 34 above ground level with moderate corrosion, pitting and fluid staining on sides. The casing was peeled off (approx 6 diam) on opposite sides with fluid level just below at 25 above ground level. A gas meter utilized for this inspection showed the following: LEL= 2; O2= 21.0; and CH4= .05. The well was situated on a property designated as agricultural field, approx 50 from stream, 500 from the road, and no overhead obstructions, or water within 200. The property contained sections of steel and plastic line located within a wooded area and near the stream. The landowner, Mr. Roger Patterson stated that he would be willing to complete the final restoration once the wells have been plugged. Mr. Patterson was excavating the property with his equipment at time of inspection.
1358347494 2013-01-16 Orphan No Violations I received notification of a complaint call from landowner Roger Patterson in regards to open well casing discovered in his agricultural field. On the day of my inspection I found approximately 3 feet of exposed 8 inch casing protruding from the soil. The top of the casing was jagged and there was a 1 inch wide channel running approximately 1 foot down from the top. The casing was full of a thick oily sludge that was continuously bubbling. The sludge was running down the casing from the channel into the soil. I detected the odor of natural gas when I was near the casing. I tested the inside of the casing with a PHD6 hand-held gas detector, equipped with sampling probe. The gas detectors alarm was sounded and the monitor showed a 75% LEL and a CH4 level of 45%. The actual GPS point of the casing was 123 feet northwest of the historical coordinates found in ODNR records. I recommend that this well be placed in the Idle& Orphan Well Program.
1723041625 2013-02-07 Administrative Inspection No Violations I met with Roger Patterson to get right of entry forms signed and to pick up deed information for orphan well program.
2036572733 2015-10-20 Orphan No Violations On the day of my inspection I found that the well was open and full of thick oily fluid up to the bottom of the holes in the side of the casing. There was a constant bubbling from the fluid. There were wet stains down the side of the casing where the fluid had ran over through the holes. There was minimal fluid on the ground.
