1295549567 2011-01-12 Non Well No Violations -Call received around 12:30 from Jeff Fry re: geothermal heat pump well being drilled at 2102 Hunter Point Ln, Anderson Twp., Hamilton Co., OH at residence of Joe Collins that hit pocket of natural gas around 9:00 am in the morning and ignited the drill rig. The well was the first of 3 to be drilled by NRG Solutions. Hole was down around 140 below surface when ignited. No one injured. Neither the house or the back deck were damaged. Anderson Twp. Fire responded & kept other structures from igniting. Talked w/ Tom Riemar, Asst. Fire Chief of Anderson Twp Fire Dept. around 1:30 pm and he said fire just burned out but wanted us to check out. Mike Mitchell & I responsed and no H2S & LEL level was 0 at well. Told asst. chief that all was clear. Hamilton Co. Mobile Command Center left site and streets were opened back up. Drilling company brought in bobcat to remove burned up new & now destroyed Vermeer track-mounted drill rig. Photos taken.
