Kilbarger Drilling Rig # 5 drilled a 14 borehole to 464 KB. A casing string comprised of ten (10) joints and one pup joint of 11.75, 42 lb. / ft. 8rd, ST&C was ran to 418 and set at 426 KB. After cementing the casing a Green Cement Test was not performed due to lack of a plug container. It was decided, by Randy Akins (ODNR) and Dustin Hendershot ( HG Energy ) that a pressure test be performed on the casing string after an eight (8) hour wait on cement time elapsed. The rig crew connected the soap pump to the casing and raised the pressure, on the casing, to 315 psi and shut in the pressure by closing a valve. The test duration was 30 minutes. Test started at 1343 hrs. @ 315 psi. Inspection of the gauge at ten (10) minutes intervals found the pressure to be as follows: 1353 hrs. @ 300 psi, 1403 hrs. @ 300 psi and at 1413 hrs. the pressure gauge read 300 psi. The pressure decline was within the allowable ( 10% decline ) at ~ 5%. The test was passed and drilling ahead was allowed to proceed. |
