Inspections Performed

Inspection ID Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
1369082100 2013-05-20 Orphan No Violations The unit is a reported orphan well in the backyard of the current homeowner. The well consists of a 6-inch diameter casing with a 12-inch square, 4-bolt flanged lid and some additional valves and lines which are very rusty. The wellhead is enclosed in a subsurface cement and masonry vault. The vault dimensions are 24 inches by 28 inches and the top of the well lid is 12 inches below grade. At the time of my inspection, the vault was partially filled with water, and the wellhead was submerged. Gas was bubbling from the around the flange continuously. A makeshift lid fashioned from 1/4-inch steel plate was covering the well.
1419866254 2014-12-30 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location to check on current status. The four-bolt wellhead is located in a subsurface vault consisting of bricks and a makeshift cover The interior of the vault is filled with surface water. I noted active and continuous gas leakage from the wellhead as exhibited by bubbling. These findings are consistent with the previous visit.
