0197281818 2012-09-07 Orphan No Violations A follow-up inspection revealed no change to the well status. A permit number has been assigned to this well since the initial inspection. There was no gas detected with the meter or visual discharge of fluids at the surface. The well contained visible casing at the surface consisting of peeled 8 inside diameter drive pipe and 7 casing with a wellhead. The pumping unit has been removed but does remain on the location. Solid material down 3 seconds in the wellbore. The immediate area surrounding the well location consisted of: 9 joints of tubing on the ground surface, plastic line(s), steel cable, and platform (box shape with railroad ties) for pumping unit. No tanks were observed for this well. The well is believed to have been drilled to the Berea for a couple reasons: The title search showed that wells on this property would have been drilled on a 91 acre oil and gas lease(s) exclusively for Berea formation. The majority of wells drilled in this area were also to the Berea formation. Lastly, the casings in the wellbore could also signify this formation. The lease road to this well location branches off a main lease road, which leads to a nearby PN 2960, a Clinton well owned by Northwood Energy.
1369231685 2013-05-08 Orphan No Violations A follow-up inspection revealed no change to the well status. A depth counter equipped with a braided line and a 2 oz sinker was utilized for this inspection to gauge fluid level and wellbore depth. The fluid level was measured at 40 and consisted of thick crude oil which would slow the migration of tool through the wellbore. A total depth of 139 was achieved before the tool would come to a stop. Casing calipers utilized for this inspecion showed 8.44 diameter (OD) drive pipe with 6.625 diameter (OD) casing equipped with a wellhead and no bull plugs. 9 joints of 2.375 diameter tubing were stacked next to the well with 1 joint that was rotted on the end. A disconnected 100 bbl tank with knockout was discovered within a wooded area and located near the clinton well owned by Northwood Energy, Permit No. 2960. The tank shipping number was 10570 and Northwood will be contacted regarding the ownership of the tank. Note: The well location was not accurately plotted and new GPS reading was entered to correct.
1560303993 2012-01-18 Orphan No Violations The Division received a complaint alleging that an orphan well existed on the property. An inspection revealed an idle well that consisted of only orange peeled 8 diameter drive pipe, and 7 diameter surface casing equipped a wellhead. The well did not contain rods or visible tubing inside the wellbore. The area surrounding the well contained the following: approximately 9 joints of tubing; a rusted pumping unit; a section of above ground 2 steel line and plastic line; an electric pole made out of 2 joints of tubing; and a vertical PVC pipe with a tee that contained a valve at the surface. The well was not leaking fluids and there was no smell or detection of natural gas with a meter. A solid obstruction within the wellbore was down approximately 3 seconds from the surface. The well was situated within a wooded area and the only potential overhead obstruction would be a tree approx 1 diameter and 10 tall. Minimal tree removal would be required around the immediate well location, but would be required at the entry point into the old lease road. Note: This lease road branches off an existing lease road for nearby Clinton well, Permit No. 2960, owned by Northwood Energy. A section of this newer lease road was also being used as a driveway for residence located at 15150 Trentwood Drive. This well was not listed within RBDMS and additional research into the location would confirm that a permit number would need to be assigned.
