Dead vegetation around the base of the polymer tank indicated possible release of brine within the immediate area. Upon further investigation, the 2 inch diameter valve at the base of the tank was in the open position with a cap over the end of the opening which was continuously dripping at a rate of one drip per second. Landowner John Burkhart approached me in the field and he informed me that he would address the issue immediately. The wellhead is equipped with 6 5/8 inch diameter casing and 2 inch diameter production tubing with an Alten pumping unit and Briggs and Stratton Engine. |

The landowner has been sent a Domestic registration packet by the Divisions Surety and Bonding section. The well was reportedly drilled CIRCA 1898 by the Pure Oil Company and is producing from the Lime section at a approximate depth of 1,000 and was part of the original McVeigh lease. |
