Wyoming Casing Crew ran 1042 feet of 13.375 inch 54.5 pound per foot J-55 casing. C & J Energy Services was on site and gained circulation with 183 barrels of fresh water, pumped 25 barrels of gel, 10 barrels of fresh water and cemented casing with 1009 sacks of Class A cement weighing 15.6 pounds per gallon and a yield of 1.19 cubic foot per sack cement. Cement additives included 2% calcium chloride and .25 pound per sack of cello-flake. Cement weight was verified by pressurized mud scales. Cement was displaced with 155 barrels of fresh water and circulated to surface with good returns of 47 barrels. The plug was landed at 420 pounds per square inch and pressured to 920 pounds per square inch for 5 minutes and the floats held with 1bbl back. Mix water was tested revealing chlorides of 61 parts per million, pH 7 and 60 degrees. |

I completed walk around with Antero Consultant Steve Guffey revealing proper containment was in place. |

Prior to my arrival Inspector Conrad had approved them to set the conductor to 80 feet. We set the conductor using 257 sacks of class A cement with 2% NaCl and about a half a pound of flake. The weight of the cement was 15.6 pounds and had a 1.18 yield with a 32.19 mix. We used a total of 43.35 barrels of fluid for displacement. When we finished setting the casing we had a 10 foot shoe. After we had finished setting the conductor we had about 18 barrels of cement come back to surface and 47 barrels of water come to surface giving us a total of 65 barrels total to surface. |

The company reported they did try to set a casing patch to isolate the split in the casing. Also reported was (2) stages were stimulated prior to the casing failure. 2 cast iron bridge plugs were reported set in the 5.5 diameter production casing. Annular pressure monitoring is in place and installed on the well head A&B sections with 2 diameter riser pipes equipped with valves and gauges being present. The 2riser pipes are tied into a main 2 sales line that is ran to the production tank battery area. The A section gauge reads 450 pounds pressure and the B section gauge reads 1,750 pounds pressure. A completion master valve is present atop the B section flow cross however no gauge is present to indicate the 5.5 diameter casing internal pressure. On this day I contacted Antero Completion Supervisor Tim Neil who indicated the company has plans to plug the well. |
