ROCK AROUND THE TOP OF THE CASING WAS REMOVED, AND THE TOP OF THE PIPE WAS CUT BELOW PIT FLOOR SO AS NOT TO BE STRUCK BY EQUIPMENT. A STEEL PLATE WILL BE PLACED OVER THE WELL.

1245699597 2009-05-20 Orphan No Violations Well was found in quarry floor at Martin Marietta permit IM-537 while removing rock from highwall shot. An open 6 inch casing filled with water was noted in the quarry floor. The rock around the top of the casing was removed and the top of the pipe cut off below pit floor so as not to be struck by equipment. A steel plate will be placed over the well.
