Mr. Lang stated that several of his calves have died recently, all near the well. Upon inspection, it was observed that the well is currently producing domestic gas and some oil. The well is producing from the Berea Sandstone, which is well above any hydrogen sulfide bearing formations. No hazardous gases were detected around the well head or tank battery. No signs of pollution or contamination were observed. Two areas approximately 50 to the west of the well were scorched/burnt, indicating a possible lightning strike, possibly explaining the death of several calves. The tank battery for the well consists of a 100 bbl production tank, mechanical separator, and containment dike. No violations were observed. |
