0220647653 2014-06-17 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations H&P rig 521 is up over the hole. Drilling has not commenced yet. The 20 in. casing is laid out on the racks. I spoke with company men Mr. Dan Lowther and Mr. Ted Vinita. Company wanted to run 750 ft. of 20 in. surface casing. I told them that that was too deep and they would be drilling through a hydrocarbon bearing zone the Cow Run sandstone. I found two example wells within 1000 feet of where they were going to be drilling. I spoke with Inspector III Pat Shreve, SW Region supervisor Dan Goins, and permitting geologist Kenny Brown. They all agreed that less surface casing should be set. I spoke again with Mr. Dan Lowther and we agreed on less than 500 ft., but more than 300 ft.
0336825131 2014-11-14 Administrative Inspection No Violations Received an email from Mr. Jim Miller of EdgeMarc Energy stating that the post-frac drillout operation was completed this morning and they were in the process of pulling the working string out of the well bore. 0479329132 2014-07-15 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Visited this location to witness the plug-back operation in preparation for kick-off into the lateral portion of the well. Halliburton was on location and rigging up for the plug-back job upon my arrival. Circulation was established at 6:30 am and an equivalent mud weight of 12.6 lbs/gal was established. Discrepencies between EdgeMarcs Drilling Engineers cement calculations and Halliburtons calculations caused delays for the plug-back operation. Plug-back had not commenced upon my departure at 11:30 am.
0682810140 2014-07-09 Administrative Inspection No Violations Received call from EM Company Man Dan Lowther at 8:05 am stating that the remedial bradenhead squeeze job was done last night from approximately 9 pm until 3 am. Using Halliburtons cement truck, they were able to establish injection at 800 psi, and the cement was pumped in 1-2 bbl stages until injection pressures rose to nearly 1500 psi, indicating a good squeeze. Mr. Lowther estimated that 9-9.5 bbl of Class A cement was squeezed into the annulus of the 9.625 casing. This amount was sufficient to fill the void where cement was poorly bonded. A bond log will be run on the squeeze job after the balance plug is drilled out and FIT test is run. The squeeze job was not witnessed due to no notification of job commencing.
0698353764 2019-05-22 Production Wells No Violations On this day, I found the site gated with signage at the entrance and surrounded with an earthen berm. They will have to bring in more joints of 9.625 casing to cover the difference. Mr. Lowther also stated that they are going to load the well bore with 10 lb/gal brine to cover up the H2S-bearing Lockport Dolomite (encountered at approx. 5850) while they wait for more 9.625 casing to arrive.
1235775753 2014-07-07 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations Visited location to witness remedial cementing activites on the 1st stage of the 9.625 casing/cement job. EdgeMarc ran a Halliburton cement retainer tool to 7050. 20 bbl of cement slurry was spotted at 200 above end of drill pipe (approx. 7000) to be pumped in through a stinger tool on the end of the drill pipe. Halliburton circulated fresh water through the stinger tool to keep the cement retainer clear as they stung-in to begin squeezing cement. As Halliburton began pumping, the pressure rose to 2000 psi almost immediately, and they shut down. EdgeMarc stung-out of the cement retainer and re-circulated on it to get stung-in again. The second attempt also failed. A third attempt was made after rotating the stinger tool an an additional 20 rotations to ensure it was opened properly. The third attempt also failed. The cause of the immediate pressure- up could either be faulty tools or very tight formation. EdgeMarc will run a casing test while the cement retainer and stinger tool are still down hole, then will drill the tools out and attempt to perform a bradenhead squeeze.
