0206028360 2017-09-12 Production Wells No Violations Inspected production well on 09/12/2017 at the request of Scott King to follow-up on a reported incident. A Fish and Wildlife Officer noted a fire from a vent at the top of the pump jack, which was extinguished, and the well shut-in. It was believed to be an act of vandalism. No fire or damage was noted either to the well or the area around it at the time of the inspection. Billy Patten with Patten Drilling indicated that the backside (not production gas) is vented through a rod on the top of the pump jack. Mr. Patten will continue to monitor the well regularly, and utilize surveillance equipment offerred by the Wildlife Officer if necessary. The tank battery consists of 1-100 bbl steel tank, located within an earthen dike. The well is equipped with a pump jack with a natural gas-powered motor. No well identification is posted at either the tank battery or the wellhead. Mr. Patten was notified of the need for proper well identification at the tank battery, and will address it promptly. No other problems were noted at the time of the inspection.
