0210422572 2007-11-19 Final Restoration No Violations Pit has been backfilled, site has been graded and all equipment removed. Well cut off below ground and ID plate attached. Area where oil overflowed from well was treated with peat moss and lime. Material was rototilled into ground where residual oil remained. No oil soaked ground visible. Site is farm field. No further restoration needed.
1194448544 2007-11-07 Orphan No Violations Call from Bob Harpster reported that oil and water had discharged from the well while drilling thru obstruction at approximately 578 feet. Although there was conductor pipe in the top of the well, it was discovered that there was no casing from approximately 25 feet to 200 feet. Oil and water from well was contained in area of drilling and did not escape in surface drainage. Vac truck on site removed most of the oil/water from surface. Boom was placed at tile outlet in ditch from field in case any discharge into field tile. While on site the well again discharged oil/water. Vac truck removed fluid. Permission granted to plug well at current depth to try to prevent any further discharge.
