Opening at surface is ~1.5 feet in diameter. Below sod line, sinkhole opens into a 4-5 foot diameter cylindrical cavity, 6-8 feet deep. At base of sinkhole is a borehole that appears to be 8-10 inches in diameter. TD of 126 feet was found using a 200 foot tape measure.Sinkhole is 35 feet off of Chartiers Street. Nearest buildings are two garages, 40 feet and 60 feet away. Closest residence, the house of Edward Schneider, is 95 feet away. Peoples Gas has a meter house and filter/drip facilities 25 feet away, used in the purchase of gas from the nearby Crum #1 well, 003-00958. Crum well is 130 feet away. Ed's son has hole covered by plywood sheeting, surrounded by fencing. Gas readings all 0%.

Property owner proposed filling borehole with gravel and install a PVC pipe at surface. Site visit confirmed installation of 16" PVC pipe with cap that extends~ 2 1/2' above ground level. Surrounding sinkhole is ~8' in diameter, ~2' deep and remains to be backfilled.
