Finnefrock LW-50 well in Leidy Twp., Clinton Co. conducted August 10, 2016 at approximately 12:50 pm. Records show the well was plugged in 2014. At the time of inspection: the well was covered with gravel with four 2” vent pipes coming out of the ground. The plugging certificate shows 4 ½” production casing was left in the hole, and the other 3 vents would be the (1) backside of 4 ½” production casing, (2) backside of 7” intermediate csg, and (3) backside of 9 5/8” csg. (plus the 4 ½” csg vent). None of the vents were labeled and there was no way to tell which annulus they were coming from since the well is buried. I did a gas check on all 4 vents with an Altair 5x multi-gas meter. Only one vent had gas; the vent on the far right if you’re facing the permit sign showed 100% methane. A Dominion employee pulled up at this time. He said he didn’t know which vent was which but would run back to the station and e-mail me a picture with the vents labeled. Finnefrock LW-50 well in Leidy Twp., Clinton Co. conducted February 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm. The LW 50 was plugged in 2014. At the time of inspection; the well was buried and had (4) 2” vent pipes plumbed to surface for wellbore and each annulus. At the time of inspection; 3 of the 4 vent pipes had no gas, and the 1 that had gas was labeled by the operator as being the 13x9” annulus which showed 4% methane inside the vent at the time of inspection, down considerably since last inspection in August. The vent pipe had a threaded 2” 90deg fitting; I hooked up directly and conducted balloon test; there was no measurable/significant flow observed, thus meeting plugging requirements of 78.91 with regard to measurable flow. Plugging certificate signed and sent to file. |
