2513195 Primary Facility 2016-08-23 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Inspection of the Gerald 1 gas well in Richmond Twp. Tioga County conducted August 24, 2016 at approximately 1:15 pm. The well is currently on the Department’s “DEP Abandoned List” well status. The coordinates for the well are at a small farm at the intersection of route 6 and 549 just East of Mansfield. The landowner was pulling out of the driveway right before I got there so I didn’t get a chance to talk to him. The coordinates listed have the well in a field next to the left of a shed in the backyard. I walked right up to the fence on the edge of the field and saw no wellhead or monument where the coordinates would be. There is a chance the well was plugged, cut below ground level, and plowed over. Well Record on file is vague; has no date or casing info, just total depth of 2880’. No concerns were noted at surface nonetheless. I plan to ask landowner if they know anything on a later day when they are home.
